Her story….
My name is Lishen Mentile, 26 years old, from Namibia, Windhoek. I am a chess player, currently holding a title of a WCM, & a chess coach of my own academy called, Fianchetto Chess Academy. Tapping into the chess world enriches my soul & broadens my perspective on life.
In addition to my love for chess, I am also the Secretary General of the Namibia Chess Federation. I strongly believe in empowering lives through using chess as a tool, and aim to spread and grow a chess culture within Namibia.
I actively participate in various chess initiatives, and constantly seek ways improve the lives of people through chess.
By educating others on the importance and benefits of chess, I hope to inspire positive change. As a chess enthusiast, I am dedicated to personal development and helping others harness their full potential.
I also do social media management for a non-profit organization called , Business Meets Chess & Kids, and through this I engage in a lot of initiatives to help the program grow and gain social presence.
Outside my professional life, I find joy in creative & adventurous endeavors. Painting, traveling, spending time w/ family, & experimenting w/ different forms of artistic expressions like fashion, allows me to tap into my imagination & share my unique perspective with the world.
Lastly, I am a firm believer in the power of community and actively contribute to making a positive impact. Mostly through chess, I actively seek ways and opportunities to uplift those in need, by offering my expertise in as a voluntary practice in the disadvantaged communities.
Connecting with others and creating a sense of belonging is a driving force in my life. “Yours in empowering minds one move at a time” ♟️
