1,000 Chess Sets Reach Zambia

Today is an exciting day for Zambia. After months of waiting, our Gift of Chess Ambassador to Zambia, Prosper Musemvu has received 1,000 chess sets for distribution across schools, refugee camps & prisons. Chess not only builds ones capacity to think, it’s a tool that helps connect us.

About Prosper:

My name is Prosper Musemvu, my life is an inspiring tale of passion, resilience & remarkable persistence. Born & raised in Solwezi, North Western Zambia, I have always possessed an unwavering determination to make a positive impact on the world.

From a young age, I displayed an insatiable curiosity and thirst for knowledge of Chess. My dreams included being a Chess Coach & traveling the world for Chess tournaments. My inquisitive nature led me to explore various fields of study, constantly seeking to broaden my horizons.

As I grew older, my true calling began to crystallize. People discovered my profound love for Chess in the early years of my education, where I went on to be the best competitive Chess player in Inter Provincial Chess Tournaments.

Fueled by an unrelenting drive, I dedicated many hours honing my skills & pushing boundaries. I faced many challenges on my way, & was unable to reach my dream of becoming a chess master. I went on to become a School Chess Instructor to teach & create opportunities for others.

I volunteerly rushed to start teaching Chess in Schools and Chess clubs. I am a compassionate individual with a strong sense of social responsibilities. I want to consistently provide opportunities to give to the communities, especially to those lacking it as I did.

I want people to have opportunities to participate in as many chess events as possible & have the opportunity to join a Chess club, I want children to keep their dreams & reach their full potential by using Chess as a tool & to make a tangible difference in people's lives.

I hope to touch countless lives, leaving an indelible mark of kindness & generosity. One of my goals is to bring hope to the hopeless & the most neglected people in my country & the world at large. I will continue striving to promote personal growth & development in individuals.

I embody the belief that through passion, support, hard work, & commitment to excellence, one can overcome any obstacle & achieve extraordinary heights. Today, I continue to embark on new ventures, pushing the boundaries of my field, and inspiring others to pursue their dreams.
