The Gift of Chess welcomes Phylis Ngigi as the Director of Global Outreach.

We are thrilled to welcome Phylis Ngigi as the Director of our Global Outreach.

Phylis who is from Nairobi, Kenya was introduced to the world of chess through her daughter Bernice who is the current U12 Champion of Kenya.

The more she learned about chess and the incredible impact it can have, the more inspired she was to share it with others.

This past year, Phylis organized a team from Kenya to represent The Gift of Chess at the African Youth Championships held in Zambia. While attending the African Youth Championship, Phylis was able to connect with many other African countries, building bridges through the game of chess.

Our goal is that under the leadeship of Phylis, we can provide 1,000 chess sets to each African country.

Over the next Month that dream will become a reality, as 5,000 chess sets are set for distribution across Nigeria, Kenya and Uganda.
